On January 22, 2025, on the Day of Unity of Ukraine, Ukrposhta presented the postal issue “Ukrainian Folk Costumes. Kursk region. Belgorod region. Kuban”. This is, in particular, the company’s reaction to the Kremlin’s policy of distorting the history and national identity of Ukrainians who historically inhabited the territories of Kuban, Starodubshchyna, Northern and Eastern Slobozhanshchyna.

The issue consists of a postal block of 6 stamps and 3 art stamps, presented in the form of stamp sheets. The postage stamps of the issue are “Kursk region. Feast of Yavdokha”, “Kursk region. Feast of Prokopy”, “Belgorod region. Easter”, “Belgorod region. Kolodiy”, “Kuban. Rod's Feast”, “Kuban. St. George's Day", as well as sketches for the envelopes were created by the Honored Artist of Ukraine, the author of a considerable number of Ukrainian postage stamps, Mykola Kochubei. The series "Ukrainian Folk Clothing" is one of the longest in the history of modern philately, the first issue was published back in 2001.

On January 22, on the Day of Unity of Ukraine, Ukrposhta issued postage stamps depicting the clothing of Ukrainians from the Kuban, Belgorod, and Kursk regions. This special stamp is dedicated to the anniversary of the signing by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky of the Decree “On the Territories of the Russian Federation Historically Inhabited by Ukrainians”. The decree was the Kremlin’s response to the distortion of the history and national identity of Ukrainians in the Russian Federation, in particular in the lands historically inhabited by them: Kuban, Starodubshchyna, Northern and Eastern Slobozhanshchyna.

The Day of Unity has a special meaning for all Ukrainians, because the very term “unity” combines the idea of unifying all territories of the country into one state entity and the cohesion and unity of all citizens, regardless of their nationality. By issuing a new stamp, Ukrposhta supports the return of the truth about the historical past for the sake of the Ukrainian future.

The new postage issue depicting the folk costumes of Ukrainians from Kuban, Belgorod region and Kursk region is a continuation of the famous series of postage stamps "Ukrainian Folk Costumes", launched by Ukrposhta in 2001. Each stamp contains a unique image of the national Ukrainian costume, depending on the holiday for which this costume was worn in a particular region. The colorful images of the stamps present the rich cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people. All stamps of the "Ukrainian Folk Costumes" issue were created by the Honored Artist of Ukraine - Mykola Kochubei.

The postage stamps presented by Ukrposhta in 2025 - "Kursk region. Holiday of Yavdokha", "Belgorod region. Easter", "Kuban. Rod's Feast" are issued in a circulation of 600 thousand copies each. The stamps contain the denomination U, which corresponds to the tariff for sending a domestic plain letter without declared value weighing up to 50 grams and a postcard. Number of stamps in the sheet – 8+1 coupon.

On January 22, 2024, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the Decree “On the Territories of the Russian Federation Historically Inhabited by Ukrainians”. The decree was the Kremlin’s response to the distortion of the history and national identity of Ukrainians in the Russian Federation, in particular in the lands historically inhabited by them: Kuban, Starodubshchyna, Northern and Eastern Slobozhanshchyna.

On January 22, 2025, artistic postage stamps and a postage block of the “Ukrainian Folk Costumes” series are put into circulation and are considered valid for payment of postal services in all postal offices.
